Friday January 30th 2009

10:00 p.m.
Just finished eating for the day...recap of diet: woke up and had a steak, for lunch had another steak and the rest of the cauliflower, 2 meals/snacks in afternoon were spicy peanuts, dinner had some eggs, bacon, and fat free cheese, and just had a strawberry and 6 blueberries.  Good day dieting today ::pats self on back:: I can't wait for Sunday so I get my cheat meal!!  Wednesday I splurged on my carb up day and had 2 bacon+egg souffles and half a bagel at Panera in the morning and some other carbs during the day-2 potatoes pan fried in olive oil and some brown rice.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do on Sunday because neither the souffles are in my carb up meal plans, nor are bagels...normally I have a full meal for my cheat (appetizer, dinner, & dessert) however this Sunday I might just have another souffle from there (my favorite bad food) and call it a cheat well done.  OR I can cheat out to eat tomorrow and not carb up on Sunday since my family wanted to get me a Dairy Queen Cake for tomorrow night, and they have amazing big-kid drinks at Bahama Breeze!  Two options, not sure what to do.  I am probably better off just waiting until Sunday, but we'll see.  I just love my normal-people-food too much!! =)
I have to post this pic from my cell...my cat and dog HATE each other.  Prada torments the cat like none other and I feel so bad for her (she's declawed) and this is the first time I have ever seen them being civil. No joke, FIRST TIME in 3 years.

4:19 p.m.
Tomorrow night means out to dinner. =(  My parents, Godparents, and boyfrend's parents are all going out to celebrate my birthday at Bahama Breeze.
This brings about an important point: JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING OUT TO EAT WHEN YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DIETING DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL RUIN YOUR DIET!  How do you prepare yourself?  You're looking right at it!  The Internet!  Every major and the majority of small restaurants have websites which make it easy for you to look up their menu.  If they don't list nutrition facts, either: a) e-mail a contact person and ask or b) use common sense!  This way you are prepared for what they have, and if they do have nutrition facts order accordingly.

Now I hate fish, but sometimes I have to make sacrifices for contest prep.  I went to Bahama Breeze's website, found Nutrition Facts, and was very disappointed. haha.  Guess what I have to get?  Fish. =(  Here's the comparisons of "harmless" chicken dishes and fish entrees off of their website:
bad chicken!

good fish!

Look at the difference!  The chicken is igher in everything...total fat, saturated fat, carbs, sodium, and calories!  Hello Mahi Mahi....I'm scared for my life!  At least I can have the lemon butter sauce for whatever disgusting thing I'm going to be eating.  Thank you keto dieting!  I will be ordering a side of broccoli with that (and yes, I will bring my own spray butter thank you very much), and assuming I don't eat all the lemon butter sauce there is a nice eat out meal with around 380 calories and about 5 grams of carbs total.  Beautiful!  Maybe I'll splurge and order a really awesome drink (they have some of the best I have ever tasted)--er, yeah right just kidding.  Those things have about 100g carbs in them per drink!

Hope this helped your dining out woes.  Prepare ahead of time and feel no guilt!
